Indian Traditional Clothing: Saree

Sarees are one of the most popular traditional clothing in India. Indian women look beautiful in sarees. We can’t replace saree with any other outfits. You can wear saree as casual or formal wear. Sarees are especially important on the festivals and are worn to celebrate special occasions such as wedding party or official dinner.

In India sarees are available in different materials i.e. silk, cotton, chiffon, georgette – these are very popular fabrics. Among the various types, silk sarees are extremely popular and preferred in India. These are rather expensive but comfortable and stylish. Summer in India can be unbearably hot and during this season cotton sarees are worn.

Saree is unstitched 6 meter long fabric and we need to drape it. Following is a picture that depicts the way to tie a saree.
